Finished installation. The Glide Ride is rated at 21,000# capacity.
Notice bent bolts holding twin shocks on this TrailAir hitch. These are bolts sent to me by TrailAir to add second shock. Adding the second shock did NOT cure my bucking and chucking. You would think that TrailAir would send grade 5 or 8 bolts. NOT.
Photo indicates the removal of factory installed hitch.
After bolts were removed the RV was raised by front jacking system to loose the hitch.
Another photo of hitch removal. My fifth wheel hitch held the TrailAir in place.
Another view. This hitch is heavy and connecting it to my truck hitch for removal helped out grunt work.
This photo shows RV with no hitch in place.
Once we placed the "Universal" model hitch in place we used "C" clamps to hold it in place and drilled new 3/4" holes through the RV frame and through the new Demco hitch. The "Universal" hitch has NO holes in it from the factory. That allowed us to position the hitch exactly where we wanted it. We also upgraded all mounting bolts from 5/8" to 3/4" grade 5 bolts.
This photo shows the holes being drilled. A very easy job.
This photo shows the finished job. It only took about three hours for the entire installation. Also please note this is a shorter model than the extended hitch TrailAir model.
