1. SIMON JACOB1 DIEHL I died Unknown.

Notes for SIMON JACOB DIEHL I:

Came to America on October 12, 1741 from the Palantinate area of Germany. The Diehls were chiefly settled at Frankfort, in the province of Brandenbrug, Germany. On September 9, 1738, William Diehl arrived at Philadelphia from Germany. William eventually moved on to North Carolina settling near Newton, then Lincoln County. He was soon followed by his brothers, John Peter Deal arrived on November 25, 1740 & Jacob Deal on October 12, 1741, both settling in Rowan County. Jacob fathered the linage that moved to Rowan Co., NC. Information from FTM Family History: Penn. Genealogies #1 CD #163 transcript of Huber Family Sailing vessel "Friendship" passenger list with them was Jacob Diehl. He was the son of Assistant judge Peter Diehl of Thaleischweiler.

German Church records indicate that 2 brothers, John Peter & Simon Jacob were Catechized by Rev. John Hecker in 1756 at the Doheck (Tohickon).

2. JACOB2 DEAL II (SIMON JACOB1 DIEHL I) was born 31 Oct 1762, and died 30 Apr 1855. He married SUSANNA MARIE. She was born 15 Jan 1760, and died 12 May 1844.

Notes for MARY LINGLE:

Rowan County marriage records indicate that possible a Mary Lingle was married to a John Deal on January 29, 1816.

He married VIRGINIA DARE RUFTY 25 Feb 1946, daughter of OLIVER RUFTY and NANNY LEMLY. She was born 14 Oct 1919 in Salisbury, NC, and died 16 Dec 2002 in Salisbury, NC.

Notes for GUY LEONARD DEAL:

Guy Deal did not see military service. He was a Rowan County farmer. He received an "agrie deferrment." Received in letter May 29, 1998 from my aunt Dare. "Guy had to raise enough points for his self and several more men to work on the farm to help feed the soldiers. He worked on the farm all day and graded sweet potatoes at night, so when that big truck came by the next morning to go directly to camps. As always: Dare Rufty Deal
