Hans Klotz, Jr. lived in Oberjettingen in 1568 and baptized several children there. The Connection between Hans and Melchior are assumptions because the baptismal records were distroyed in the 30 Years War. The parents of Melchior Klotz, b. ca. 1630 could not be established. Records from Hans Klotz down 10 generations were taken from book written by Ralph Dean Kluttz. "The Descendants of Johann Jacob Klotz in America 1690 - 1990."

Johann Klotz came with his father and mother to Pennsylvania from Germany on the ship "Chesterfield" at the age of 15. He moved to Rowan County in 1782. He served in the Revolutionary War in Berks Co., PA. On November 1777, was listed as a Private, 6th Class in the 1st. Battlion of Col. Henry Spicker's Unit under Captain Peter Wanner's Company. He resided in Pennsylvania for 33 years and moved to Rowan. He lived there for 2 years till his death.

Jesse Kluttz served in Civil War in Company "K" 57th. NC Infantry Regiment from Rowan County. He enlisted on July 4, 1862. He fought at Fredricksburg, Petersburg, Richmond and through Chesterfield toward Appomattox and Shenandoah, Va. He was wounded and made POW on February 6, 1865.
